Firefly is Whedon s next huge TV show that is a huge success. It is likely that she left an indelible impression because this single episode was the catalyst for her becoming a star. Summer Glau's River Tam character was complex and Glau did a great job of handling it. The character Tam was made to take part in trials conducted by the government in which she was trained to be an assassin. Tam's ability to control emotions was taken away from her. Glau got the chance to display not just her acting skills, but her skills as a combat ace as a character in Firefly. Glau's fighting skills were enhanced by her training to become an"Assassin. Summer Glau has been a ballerina since she was as a young girl. Her dancing abilities include flamenco, tango as well as a range of different types. However, a fractured toe cut her off from performing. Firefly ran for only one year but gained an avid fan base. Whedon came back to it several years later.
